WELCOME

Gazzo is a small kitchen & bar in the Neighborhood of Mouraria, where we celebrate Italian cuisine and the joy of eating together. In one of the oldest districts in the city, we cook simple and delightful dishes inspired by Mediterranean flavours.

OUR KITCHEN

Our cuisine ranges from the legendary Italian pasta to simple and tasty appetizers. We celebrate all the flavors of the Italian cuisine, through selected dishes in a modern and light form.

A special focus is reserved for our organic wines that we carefully select so that our guests can enjoy a genuine glass together with our dishes.

OUR STORY

We are Alessandro (Italian) and Lara (German). We met and fell in love in New Zealand back in 2016. The desire to travel, to discover cultures and people with different experiences from ours, has always led us to be open and curious about this beautiful world.

After traveling in Southeast Asia, we decided to take a break and settle for a while in cosmopolitan Berlin. There we began to mature the idea of opening a place that could become a melting pot of people from all over the world, ready to explore our selection of dishes.

After immersing ourselves in Portuguese culture we were adopted by this incredible city, Lisbon.

We managed to "give birth" to this idea, opening this small restaurant, hoping to let you taste the freshness of our products accompanied by our smiles, and of course, a fine selection of organic wines.

Our restaurant is situated on Largo do Terreirinho in the Mouraria district, one of the oldest in the city, so-called because it was the place where Muslims lived after the conquest of Lisbon in 1147.

Today it is one of the most multicultural neighbourhoods in the city center, where there is a certain harmony between foreign and local cultures. We hope to bring additional "color" with our idea and increase the visibility of this beautiful neighbourhood.
